Troops arrest suspected terrorists in Adamawa 

Troops of the 232 Battalion (Tactical) have arrested several suspected terrorist members during a cordon-and-search operation in Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The development was disclosed in a post shared on X on Tuesday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the operation was carried out in the early hours of April 6, 2026, at about 12:15 am, targeting Worubude and Yelwa communities.

Security sources said the troops conducted the operation with support from local professional hunters, leading to the arrest of suspects believed to be linked to terrorist groups, including the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS).

The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation, while security agencies continue follow-up actions.

Authorities also said operations in the area are ongoing as part of efforts to maintain pressure on terrorist elements and prevent them from regrouping.
