Troops kill 17 terrorists, disrupt logistics network

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), working together with local vigilante groups, successfully carried out a long-range ambush that disrupted a terrorist logistics network and neutralized several insurgents.

This happened in the early hours of December 21, 2025.

Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, confirmed the operation in a statement on Sunday.

“Acting on credible intelligence from own sources regarding the movement of logistics supplies by suspected JAS/ISWAP elements, troops of OPHK and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), supported by local hunters, deployed to a designated interception point between Sojiri and Kayamla villages on the night of 20 December 2025.

“At approximately 2:24 a.m. on 21 December, suspected terrorists mounted on bicycles arrived at the location conveying logistics materials, confirming earlier intelligence reports.

“The troops, positioned in concealed and coordinated formations, engaged the terrorists decisively,” parts of the statement read.

During the confrontation, 17 terrorists were neutralized, while others managed to escape with gunshot injuries.

Recovered from the scene were several bicycles, various food items, drugs and medical supplies, detergents, clothing materials, torchlights, and other assorted logistical items, along with weapons of different calibres and ammunition.

The statement noted that the renewed determination of the troops highlights the ongoing success of intelligence-driven, joint security operations in weakening terrorist networks and disrupting their supply chains.
