Troops of Operation Safe Haven have recovered rustled cattle in Plateau State following a security operation in Riyom Local Government Area.
The development was disclosed in a post shared on X on Tuesday by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited security sources.
According to the report, troops of Sector 6 deployed at Makera acted on credible intelligence at about 7:20 am on Monday regarding the movement of suspected rustled cattle around Tahoos community.
The troops immediately carried out a search-and-recovery operation in the area, leading to the recovery of six cattle abandoned by the rustlers, who fled on sighting the security personnel.
The recovered cattle were later handed over to their rightful owner.
Security sources said troops have continued patrols in the area to prevent further criminal activities and ensure the safety of residents.
