U11, U13, U15 team coaches Boy Mkhabela and Tisetso Mofokeng are seeking sponsorship for their teams towards all the tournament/league games they will play and host this year.

Tsakani – The U11, U13, and U15 team coaches from Tsakani Ext 13 were regular tournament hosts last year and want to continue hosting tournament games this year.

One coach, Tisetso Mofokeng, said they are passionate about teaching soccer and want to influence their players to stay motivated.

“Coaching these children means a lot because we can pave the way for younger boys to achieve what they want. And it is not just about providing them with soccer skills, we get to keep them off the streets and away from drugs and non-educational habits.

“I love the work with these children, as I have noticed that many have soccer talent. We aim to continue encouraging them to reach their full potential,” Mofokeng said.

Mofokeng added they need sponsorships and long and short-term funders for their regular tournament and league games.

He mentioned the grounds they play on need maintenance and soccer goal nets. The players need sporting gear.

“Our players come from different backgrounds. Some can afford to buy new soccer gear and some cannot.

“During league or tournament games, we have to rotate soccer clothing among our players to look as uniform as possible on the ground.

“We are also pleading for sponsors willing to buy our different divisions’ soccer kits. We need jerseys, socks, shorts, tops and soccer boots. Additionally, we need soccer balls and cones,” explained Mofokeng.

Another coach, Boy Mkhabela, said he loves imparting skills in a mental, physical, technical and tactical way. It provides his players with excellent skills and analytic abilities for each game.

He added the game is great for encouraging teamwork. He said it would make him proud to see some of his players play soccer professionally.

“Having sponsors and additional help will boost our player’s confidence and motivate them to stay focused,” he mentioned.

Mkhabela said the community could also assist them by allowing their children to participate in soccer activities and by allowing them to join their teams.

“We have soccer games every Saturday at the Ext 13 ground. We urge parents to support their children. Soccer legends could help us by providing skills support, educational talks and other influential programmes,” he added.
