Turaki-led PDP moves to halt Wike’s faction from holding national convention

The Kabiru Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has approached the Supreme Court to stop the Nyesom Wike-led faction from holding its national convention scheduled for March 29–30.

On Friday, the Turaki-led group filed a suit challenging the Court of Appeal’s judgment, which upheld the nullification of its national convention held in November 2025 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In the appeal, the faction contended that both the Court of Appeal and the Federal High Court lack jurisdiction over the dispute.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that the Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, held a closed-door meeting with the Board of Trustees, BoT, led by Adolphus Wabara, in Abuja.

It was gathered that the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, had announced that the national convention of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will hold on March 29 and March 30 as scheduled.
