Johannesburg ā ActionSA says the partyās Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate, Xolani Khumalo, accused of beating up a suspected drug dealer, is wanted by the police and will āvoluntarily hand himselfā over after the weekend.
However, ActionSA on Friday, 16 January 2026, said Khumalo was falsely accused of assaulting a self-confessed drug dealer.
In a terse statement made available to The Bulrushes, ActionSA said it ārejects this pathetic attempt to intimidate Khumalo, which only exposes the desperation of the corrupt syndicates that have operated with impunity in Ekurhuleni for far too longā.
ActionSA said the impunity of such syndicates was now being challenged by a crime fighter unwilling to allow his country to be destroyed by criminals.
ActionSA said its Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate will voluntarily hand himself over at the Katlehong Police Station on Monday, 19 January 2026.
The statement said that when Khumalo hands himself over to the police on Monday, he will be accompanied by ActionSA National Chairperson Michael Beaumont, Parliamentary Chief Whip Lerato Ngobeni MP, Ā Dereleen James MP, Gauteng Chairperson Funzi Ngobeni MPL, community anti-crime organisations, and activists.
The television personality has clashed with the law before regarding his Ā anti-drug dealer Sizokāthola TV programme.
In 2023, Khumalo was arrested and charged with murder, robbery, and malicious damage to property after the death of suspected drug dealer Robert āKicksā Varrie, whom he had interviewed during the filming of his TV programme.
The arrest led to Khumaloās dismissal from Moja Love.
However, the charges were provisionally withdrawn in April 2025 by the National Prosecuting Authority for further investigation, allowing his return to the show.
