Two individuals have been detained in Adamawa for allegedly threatening to abduct a resident of Song.

The Adamawa State Police Command has detained two individuals suspected of kidnapping. They are believed to be connected to a threat against a resident of the Song Local Government Area. A complaint was filed by Hassan Musa Dabutu, who reported receiving menacing calls from an unknown number. According to a statement from police spokesperson Suleiman Nguroje, Dabutu indicated that the caller threatened to abduct him unless he paid a specified amount of money. The police took prompt action, especially since Dabutu revealed that his family had previously endured multiple kidnappings, leading to a ransom payment of ₦20,000,000. Following this information, Commissioner of Police CP Dakombo Morris instructed the State Intelligence Department (SID) to investigate the matter. This resulted in the arrest of 15-year-old Abdulraman Musa from Nguru and 60-year-old Adamu Orte from Machina, Yobe State. Nguroje noted that investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged once the inquiry is completed.
