Two individuals have been confirmed dead and several others injured following a violent encounter between vigilante forces and alleged bandits in the Edogi region of the Lafiagi area, Kwara State. The clash led to four people suffering gunshot wounds, including members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN): Mohammed Ndagi, Saidu Jiya, and Philips John. Additionally, a civilian named Babangida Daniel, who was nearby during the altercation, was also caught in the crossfire. All injured individuals were swiftly taken to the General Hospital in Lafiagi for urgent medical care. Tragically, VGN Commander Mohammed Yatsu and Babangida Daniel were declared dead upon medical arrival. The other injured parties have since been transferred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for further treatment. ASP Sado Sunday, reportedly involved in the security operation, has been reported missing, prompting ongoing search and rescue efforts. Authorities have initiated an investigation and are actively working to capture the assailants while aiming to restore calm in the impacted community.
