Nigeria is set to face New Zealand in their next match on Monday, January 23, also at the Borneo Cricket Ground, before going against South Africa in their final Group C match on Wednesday, January 22. In Group B, England and Ireland also shared the points.
Ireland sent England into bat, and opener Davina Perrin gave them a quick start with 26 runs off 19 balls, including the tournament’s first six. Charlotte Stubbs scored 31 off 34 balls, and Jemima Spence contributed 37 off 27, leading England to a total of 144-7 from 20 overs. Ireland’s batting began with excitement, reaching 28-2 after 3.5 overs, but the rain interrupted play and the game could not continue.
