Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella did not play in Bayer Leverkusen’s 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 at Allianz Arena on Wednesday. Harry Kane scored two goals and Jamal Musiala added another to ensure a comfortable win for Bayern. Leverkusen had to contend with only 10 players for much of the second half after Nordi Mukiele was sent off. Kane opened the scoring in the ninth minute, followed by Musiala scoring the second in the 54th minute. Mukiele received a second yellow card and was dismissed in the 62nd minute. Kane later scored a penalty to secure a 3-0 lead with 15 minutes remaining. Meanwhile, at Parc Des Princes, Liverpool secured a 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain, thanks to a late goal from Harvey Elliot. PSG, the Ligue 1 champions, dominated many phases of the match but failed to convert their chances, including a disallowed goal by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia due to VAR calling it offside. Elliot scored three minutes before the end after receiving a pass from Darwin Nunez just outside the box. In other matches, Barcelona, despite being down to 10 men, managed to defeat Benfica 1-0, and Inter Milan triumphed over Feyenoord with a score of 2-0 in Holland.
