UCL: Harry Kane surpasses David Beckham’s record

Harry Kane, the Bayern Munich forward, has surpassed fellow Englishman David Beckham’s Champions League record. Kane reached this milestone by scoring two goals during Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday. With these goals, he has now accumulated 53 goal contributions in the Champions League (42 goals and 11 assists), setting a new record for an English player in the competition’s history. Previously, Beckham held the record with 52 contributions from his time at clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain before retiring in 2013. At 32, Kane aims to lead Bayern Munich to a win against Hoffenheim in their upcoming Bundesliga match this weekend.
