The mayor of Dakar, Abass Fall, reacted on his Facebook page to the political situation after 8 November. In a publication with a critical tone, he attacked the coalition of the Alliance for the Republic, which he accused of going through a phase of political disorientation. According to him, “after 8 o’clock, the exorcism session begins”, estimating that the Alliance for the Republic is now “like a stray and hungry dog” who tries to “eat the bones left by the master of the game”, in reference to Ousmane Sonko, president of the Pastef party. The current figures of the opposition, he said, had to follow the pace imposed by the leader of the Pastef party. “The emaciated faces, full of wrinkles, of the porte-parole of the day testify to the rigor and the unsustainability of the rhythm imposed by the PROS”, he wrote. Continuing his remarks, the mayor of Dakar believes that “the despair of a party in extinction” is manifested through the recent exits of APR officials. “The rhythm is not good for you. In the opposition, il vous l’imposait. Au pouvoir aussi, il vous l’impose”, he adds, before concluding: “The stocade is arriving.
