UNAS to strengthen the sanitary security of the parcelles assainies: setting up of a strategic pumping station

The National Office of Sanitation of Senegal (ONAS) has recently put into operation a pumping station situated at Unit 13 des Parcelles Assainies. This intervention aims to protect the surrounding dwellings against possible overflowing waters, a major issue for the sanitary and environmental security of the area. According to the communiqué published by ONAS, this measure was taken in response to leaks observed on a drinking water pipe which caused a natural runoff to the lowest point, where the pumping station is located. In order to prevent any overflow towards the neighbouring settlements, ONAS reacted promptly by activating the project concerned. This initiative is part of the mission of ONAS to improve the living conditions of the population through effective sanitation. The organisation reiterates its commitment to ensuring a quality public service, in full transparency and with a constant concern for the respect of environmental and health standards.
