After two days of wearing red brassards, the Regroupement des Taxis Urbains du Sénégal announces a grand rally scheduled for 25 January 2025 on the esplanade du stade Léopold Sédar Senghor. This mobilization is part of their action plan to denounce unfair competition by multinationals operating in the transport sector. “We cannot remain inactive in the face of the many difficulties we face. That is why we have decided to organise a large-scale rally on 25 January at the Léopold Sédar Senghor stadium. The objective is to push the authorities to take concrete measures to solve our problems”, declared Malick Diop, secretary general of the grouping. “Passing to the higher speed is to take radical measures. We have the capacity to slow down the transport system and to considerably disrupt the economy of Senegal. However, we privilege the dialogue, because we are legalists. If nothing is done, we will be forced to act in a more drastic manner”, warned Malick Diop.
