United States: President Diomaye confirms his participation in the Conference on Palestine in New York (17-19 June)

The President of the Republic of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, will take part in the International Conference on Palestine, scheduled for 17 to 19 June 2025 in New York, the Senegalese presidency announced on Tuesday. This high-level meeting, organised under the auspices of the United Nations, aims to relaunch diplomatic efforts to find a lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in a context marked by an intensification of violence in Gaza and the West Bank. The participation of the Senegalese Head of State is part of the continuity of Senegal’s historic commitment to the rights of the Palestinian people, in his capacity as President of the Committee for the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP). According to an official communiqué, President Faye will use this platform to “reaffirm Senegal’s commitment to a just, lasting and international law-compliant peace based on the two-state solution”. This visit to New York could also be an opportunity for bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the conference, in particular with Arab, African and Western diplomatic officials.
