Samson Unuanel, the ex-coach of Kwara United, praised Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle for providing opportunities to players from the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) to showcase their talents in the senior national team. Unuanel made these remarks prior to the team’s international friendly match against Russia today at the Luzhniki Stadium, in an interview with Completesports. He acknowledged that the NPFL’s showing in the recently finished Unity Cup demonstrated the talents of the home-based players. Additionally, a former Spartak Moscow player expressed confidence in Russia’s ability to triumph over the Super Eagles. “I admire the chance that Eric Chelle has provided to athletes in the NPFL during the Unity Cup.” I am pleased to see them seizing every opportunity available. This clearly shows that there are valuable qualities present in the NPFL, and with the right utilization, these talents can greatly benefit the Super Eagles. I am proud of the players and anticipate even greater performance from them in the match against Russia.
