The mayor of Ziguinchor, Djibril Sonko, is summoned this Monday 2 June to the Section de recherches de Ziguinchor. He is the subject of a complaint from the local branch of Frapp de Guy-Marius Sagna for embezzlement. The complaint relates to the alleged disappearance of 25 million CFA francs from the accounts of the municipality, L’Observateur reports, which provides the information. The journal stated that it would have been recorded in an official document of the town hall. In response to this case, the municipality had produced a note, reprinted by the journal du Groupe futurs médias, in which it denounced “an inique, scandalous and shameful manipulation, passing the management fault of a municipal agent at the disposal of the Recettes Perception municipale (RPM) for a financial scandal that the mayor and the municipality would attempt to pass under silence”.
