Le député du Pastef, Guy Marius Sagna, reacted with force and emotion to the announcement of the Minister of Justice concerning the 2026 budget. It provides for the acquisition of equipment to put an end to the inhuman and degrading searches carried out in the Senegalese prisons. “I myself, on several occasions, have been stripped naked while entering prison”, the Member recalls, stressing that this practice infringes the dignity of persons deprived of their liberty. In welcoming this budgetary measure, he congratulated the Government and called for continued vigilance. “We will deepen, follow, improve the situation of our fellow citizens in places of deprivation of liberties and for the respect of their dignity”. This declaration is part of the long-standing struggle led by Guy Marius Sagna and the collective citizens for a deep reform of the Senegalese prison system.
