Vice-President of the CAF: Augustin Senghor resigns from his post

Mr. Augustin Senghor has just announced his resignation as First Vice President of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) after failing to elect the African members of the FIFA Council for the 2025-2029 term. This reversal led him to draw the necessary conclusions, favouring consistency and respect for his principles. “We must now wish them good luck. On our side, we will certainly suffer the consequences. I have two years left in my mandate as a member of the CAF Executive Committee, since my mandate runs until 2027. Moreover, this argument was used to convince the voters, by telling them that if Senghor was not elected, he would remain tout de même 1er vice-président, et donc n’aurait rien à perdre. Quoi qu’il en soit, la conséquence immédiate, selon moi, est que, dans cette situation, je ne me vois pas occuper le poste de premier vice-président “, a déclaré Senghor.. Qui refuse de rester en poste simplement pour l’honneur : ” There is a logic and a coherence to be respected, and I have always had to be consistent in my commitments. From the moment the President, the Vice-Presidents and the other members have been elected, I should become a simple member of the Executive Committee.
