Le Commissariat central de Saint-Louis arrested a man on 24 August 2025, after a spectacular chase. The facts reproached are the theft of a State vehicle, the destruction of public property, the refusal to comply and the endangerment of the lives of others. The alert was given by a citizen who reported the theft of an ambulance from the SAMU (Service d’Assistance Médicale d’Urgences) and its direction towards l’Université Gaston Berger (UGB). Police officers, stationed at a crossroads, have spotted the vehicle and have attempted to stop it. The conductor first slowed down before running over the policemen. One of them attempted to neutralize him by opening the door to seize the steering wheel, but the suspect forced him through, forcing the agent to let go of the steering wheel. The race finally ended when the vehicle hit a wall, thus allowing the questioning of the culprit. Interrogated by the forces of order, the individual has acknowledged the facts.
