​WAFCON 2024: Nnadozie Praises the Super Falcons for Achieving Their 4th Clean Sheet Following a 5-0 Victory Over Zambia.    

 

Chiamaka Nnadozie expressed joy after achieving her fourth consecutive clean sheet at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco. During Friday’s semi-final match against Zambia’s Copper Queens, the Super Falcons secured a 5-0 victory to advance to the finals. Nnadozie spent much of the game as a mere observer, having little action to contend with. Veteran defender Osinachi Ohale scored the first goal just two minutes into the match, followed by Esther Okoronkwo and Chiwendu Ihezuo, who added the second and third goals before halftime. In response to the victory, Nnadozie posted on her X account: “YOU HAD A PURPOSE BEFORE ANYONE HAD AN OPINION.” CONTINUE PUSHING FORWARD. WE ARE THE SUPER FALCONS .. “A SHUTOUT AND DIRECTLY INTO THE SEMI-FINALS.” I attribute all my success to God. Nnadozie aims to achieve five consecutive matches without allowing any goals as the Super Falcons prepare to take on either South Africa or Senegal in the semi-finals next week. The last occasion the Falcons secured the WAFCON title without conceding was during its first edition in 1998 hosted in Nigeria. The Super Falcons achieved their third victory in four WAFCON encounters against Zambia. In the 2022 tournament held in Morocco, Zambia narrowly defeated the nine-time African champions 1-0 in the playoff for third place.
