Shortly after, defender Ashleigh Plumptre had a goal ruled out due to a foul during the buildup. Substitute Chiwendu Ihezuo clinched the win by scoring a third goal just six minutes before the end of the match. He discussed this in an interview with Completesports. Unuanel praised the Super Falcons’ performance and encouraged the team to concentrate on their upcoming match. “I’m very pleased that the Super Falcons kicked off their WAFCON journey with a victory, as securing three points in your opening match is crucial. The players displayed strong determination and eagerness in their gameplay, indicating they are in Morocco to achieve their goals.” However, this is merely the initial challenge they have overcome. “Now they need to concentrate on their upcoming match and aim to secure all the points to place themselves comfortably in the standings of the group.”
