​WAFU B U-20 Tournament: Flying Eagles Set to Compete Against Niger Republic in Semi-Final Match    

 

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are set to compete against Niger Republic in the semi-finals of the 2025 WAFU B U-20 tournament taking place in Ghana. This matchup was determined after the last games in Group B concluded on Thursday. Niger Republic secured their spot in the semis by earning a goalless draw with Burkina Faso, finishing second with four points. Meanwhile, Cote d’Ivoire topped Group B after winning against Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, and Togo. They will go up against the host nation, Ghana, in the semi-finals. Additionally, Zubairu emphasized that the Flying Eagles are focused on preparing for the World Cup. The Flying Eagles advanced to the semi-finals with a decisive 4-1 victory over Benin Republic in their second Group A match. Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s team had previously drawn 1-1 with Ghana in their first game of the invitational tournament. The Flying Eagles are participating in the WAFU B U-20 tournament as part of their preparation for the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
