Walker Agrees To Join Premier League Club Ahead Of Man City Exit

Kyle Walker has agreed to join Everton after being put up for sale by Manchester City.. The 35-year-old has been one of the best right-backs in the world over the past decade, lifting six Premier League trophies at the Etihad Stadium.. Walker was also a key member of the team that secured Man City’s first Champions League trophy in 2023.. The England star made at least 30 appearances for seven seasons in a row before being frozen out by Pep Guardiola last term.. Man City loaned Walker out to AC Milan following a disappointing first-half of the season and are now ready to sell the veteran.. AC Milan were initially interested in making Walker’s stay permanent but the Serie A giants have now decided to end their interest.. But it has now taken long for Walker to find a new club, with the Euro 2020 and Euro 2024 starter agreeing a one-year deal with Everton, according to The Sun.. Fulham also expressed interest in signing Walker but it is claimed Everton have won the race and are now in talks with Man City to discuss whether it will be a permanent move or a 12-month loan.. Walker made over 300 appearances for Manchester City following his £50m move from Tottenham in 2017.. He has been England’s first-choice right-back for around a decade, amassing 96 caps for the Three Lions.. New England boss Thomas Tuchel has continued to show faith in Walker since his appointment but the ex-Spurs star struggled during the recent friendly defeat to Senegal.. Walker is desperate to hit 100 England caps and wants to be involved in next summer’s World Cup in the United States.. And he is said to believe a move to Everton and a full season of regular football under David Moyes will give him a superb chance of featuring for the Three Lions.. Everton were in a relegation dogfight under Sean Dyche but soared up the Premier League table after Moyes returned to Goodison Park, eventually finishing 13th.. Walker will not be the only high-profile departure from the Etihad Stadium this summer, with Jack Grealish also set to be sold after being left out of Guardiola’s Club World Cup squad.. Grealish struggled for game-time last season and has been linked with a return to boyhood club Aston Villa, with Tottenham also believed to be interested in a deal.. metro.co.uk
