War: ‘American people are being lied to again’ – Senator Bernie Sanders

Senator Bernie Sanders has criticized the US attack on Iran, saying the reasons given by President Donald Trump are similar to the false claims used to start past US wars in Iraq and Vietnam, which, according to him, ended in failure.

He posted a message on social media asking his fellow US Senators to reject the approval for war.

Meanwhile, DAILY POST can report that President Trump did not ask the US Senate for permission to go to war.

Sanders said, “President Trump, together with his far-right extremist ally Benjamin Netanyahu from Israel, has started an illegal, planned, and unconstitutional war.”

“Unfortunately, Trump is risking American lives and money to help Netanyahu achieve his long-term goal of getting the United States involved in a war with Iran.”

He added that “the Senate needs to meet right away and vote on a pending War Powers Resolution,” which he will strongly support.

He also mentioned that “the attack on Iran is a clear violation of international law and will lead to more instability in a world that’s already very dangerous.

“The American people were told false things about Vietnam. The people of America were told false things about Iraq. The American people are being deceived again today, and once more, it will be the everyday people who end up suffering the consequences,” he added.

“We shouldn’t let Trump push us into another pointless war. No war with Iran.”

In a previous report, Trump had said that his country and Israeli forces carried out an attack on Iran.

This happened after he had previously told the Iranian forces to put down their weapons or else they would be killed.

Trump has warned Iranian forces to lay down their weapons or face consequences. Iran has since attacked US bases in five countries, including Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, as a form of retaliation.
