A hacking group linked to Iran has broken into the email account of FBI Director Kash Patel.
They then shared personal photos and other documents online, according to US media reports from Friday.
CNN and other US news organizations, citing sources familiar with the incident, reported that the breach of Patel’s email was attributed to the Handala Hack Team, a hacktivist group supporting Iran.
According to CNN’s report, the compromised emails include personal, professional, and travel-related communications spanning from 2011 to 2022, before Patel was appointed as FBI director by President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, since the start of the Iran conflict on February 28, more than 300 American soldiers have been wounded, as stated by the US Central Command on Friday.
Since Operation Epic Fury began, about 303 American soldiers have been wounded.
“The majority of these injuries are minor, and 273 troops have resumed their duties,” stated US Navy Captain Tim Hawkins.
The latest information shows that 13 soldiers have died in the fighting, with seven of them killed in the Gulf region and six in Iraq.
