Geluksdal Secondary School achieved a 88,1% 2024 matric results leading as a top achieving school in Tsakani.
Tsakani – Geluksdal Secondary School is the top achieving school in Tsakani and Geluksdal with an excellent pass rate of 88.1% for the 2024 matric results.
The school principal, Tshepo Chaka, cited in excitement that he was pleased with the results, mentioning that the performance rate for all their subjects has increased positively.
“We managed to scoop an excellent pass rate and as a school we are grateful. The school has seen great improvement. Last year our pass rate was 75.9% which is a noticeable improvement.
“Educators have had a lot of sleepless nights trying to ensure that they produce the best results. Learners also portrayed a lot of dedication and hard work.
“The parents also fully supported the school and ensured that we achieved great performance,” explained Chaka.

Chaka further highlighted that they had to implement strategies to ensure that they provided sufficient support to the learners.
He said they implemented morning classes, afternoon classes, and classes on session initiation protocol (SIP) on weekends and received support from the district office through residential camps.
“These camps provided support to learners who were progressing. They were taught by different tutors from different institutions.
“That helped us yield good results because those learners improved their marks and received the necessary support,” he added.
Chaka further extended his gratitude to the school teachers, saying their dedication and hard work had paid off. And also thanked other employees of the school, citing their achievement as a school through collective effort.

Malwandla Dzambukeri is the top achiever at the school with five distinctions in English (home language), mathematics, geography, life sciences and physical sciences.
“I worked very hard to get here and had numerous sleepless nights. I persevered although it was taught. The 2025 matric learners should work hard, strive for good marks and ensure that they seek assistance from educators when necessary.
“They must also attend all classes, remain focused and remain dedicated to their studies,” said Dzambukeri.
Mathematics paper one teacher Sizwe Mhlongo said Geluksdal Secondary School received the highest pass rate in Mathematics within Kwatsaduza.
“We obtained an 87.3% in maths with only eight learners that failed. In all the township schools, we obtained the first position and at the district level, we obtained the second position. We are very proud and we promise to produce better results this year,” he added.
