Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian has assured Iranians that the country is still operating after the bombing of his office overnight.
Pezeshkian, who took office in 2024, disclosed this in a post on his X account on Tuesday.
“We are in direct contact with the governors. The situation is exceptional, but the country has not come to a halt. Ongoing activities are continuing across the country,” he tweeted.
This is coming after the Israeli military said it had attacked the “most important and central” command centre in Tehran, which includes the presidential office, in strikes on Monday night.
Pezeshkian, meanwhile, sits on the three-person temporary leadership council that has assumed the responsibilities of Ali Khamenei, the late supreme leader, who was killed over the weekend.
