Senate President Godswill Akpabio has given reasons the Senate did not ask Taiwo Oyedele to take a bow and go during his ministerial screening.
Speaking during the screening on Wednesday, Akpabio said Nigerians who were listening to him were getting more educated.
Akpabio said Oyedele would have a lot of working documents to study in his office and to know the kind of policies to generate and which areas to touch.
According to him, such policies would assist Nigeria to put the economy on the right footing.
“It’s also possible that we could have said, take a bow and go, but Nigerians out there who are listening to you are getting more educated,” Akpabio said.
DAILY POST had reported that the Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Oyedele as a minister-designate barely 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu asked the red chamber to screen him.
The President had nominated him as Minister of State for Finance, replacing Dr Doris Anite-Uzoka.
