A local First Nations supply has been ordered to be evacuated following a wildfire that started early on Monday afternoon near the Village of Chase on Mount Scatchard. The Neskonlith Indian Band is requesting people to report to the Adams Lake Conference Center in Chase that the fire is” spreading fast” near the circle office on Chief Neskonlith Drive. Around 3:30 p.m., the fire’s length was estimated to have grown from about third a ha to about half a acre. It is now deemed to be out of power and is believed to be brought on by people. Three primary attack crew were en route to the flames as of just until 2 p.m. on Monday, according to BC Wildfire Information Officer Taylor Shantz, who told CFJC. The Chase Fire Department is also present.
