Eastern Cape-born Innocent Mihla aka ArtiStikS started his journey as a hip-hop artist in 2016 after he was inspired by two friends, Cndcate and Snupe-Dice.
“I took this path because it kept me away from destructive things. I was inspired by my friends to love music and as my perspective grew; there was no celebrity I looked up to except seeing them as characters in the music industry.
“I always wanted to be great with music. I was never motivated to collaborate with anyone until Tecto forced me to feature him and Cndcate on a song Iqiniso,” he explained.
ArtiStikS is working on an album called Ispirit Sako-kasi. He said he has featured a few artists from Kwa-Thema such as Spiyo.
“I am done with my first EP; Two-faced will be released soon. I’m working on vlogs based on those two projects stated above and those vlogs are also based on ArtiStikS and how he came about.
“The vision is to make it into the mainstream independently,” he explained.
The muso said his lyrics are inspired by his daily experience.
“To me, music is personal because that is where I pour my emotions. I feel like I can overcome whatever I am experiencing because of music.
“It keeps me going and so I believe that if my music would be heard it could save, motivate, inspire, uplift and embrace,” he explained.
