​Zambia’s coach Häuptle has admitted defeat, stating that the Super Falcons performed better than his team.    

 

Nora Häuptle, head coach of the Copper Queens of Zambia, stated that the Super Falcons of Nigeria rightfully earned their victory over her team, as reported by Completesports. Nigeria, the nine-time champions, decisively defeated the Copper Queens 5-0 during their quarter-final match at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on Friday evening. Osinachi Ohale, Esther Okoronkwo, and Chiwendu Ihezuo scored in the first half for the Super Falcons, followed by two additional goals in the second half from Oluwatosin Demehin and Folashade Ijamilusi. Häuptle recognized Nigeria’s dominance and offered his congratulations to the Super Falcons for their impressive win, stating, “We clearly lost this match.” Kudos to Nigeria for their well-earned win. “I believe we should acknowledge that Nigeria outperformed us today,” she stated. “None of us have reached the pinnacle—neither the players nor I as the coach.”} “It was a shared defeat,” Häuptle expressed to the press following the match.
