Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has deployed 555 personnel to safeguard lives and property during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
State Commandant Sani Mustapha said the deployment covers worship centres across all 14 local government areas of the state, aimed at ensuring peaceful and memorable festivities.
A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASCII Umae Muhammad, emphasized the commitment of NSCDC personnel to maintain peace, order, and security throughout the yuletide period.
The deployment also includes strategic patrols of major highways, markets, and other public spaces to deter criminal activities and provide visible security presence for residents and visitors.
The command reassured residents of its commitment to maintaining peace and security across Zamfara State before, during, and after the yuletide celebrations.
