In an exclusive interview with Radio Télévision Sénégalaise (RTS) and Seneweb, the President of the National Assembly, El Malick Ndiaye, lifted the veil on the fund reforms that redefine the parliamentary institution in depth. He is driven by a clear desire for modernization, transparency and pacification of the political game, and intends to inscribe his magisterium in a dynamic of rupture with the practices described in the past. A concrete digital transition: the Assembly enters the era of “zero paper”. One of the most striking reforms is the full digitalisation of parliamentary work. In the context of the examination of the Law of Finances Rectificative 2025, the deputies abandoned printed documents in favour of secure digital platforms. This transition has saved nearly 1.3 tonnes of paper in six months, an ecological and functional gain. The elected representatives now have advanced consultation tools, search engines, annotation functions and simplified access to texts.
