Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Cross River State, Venatius Ikem, has expressed concern over the low visibility of the party’s presidential candidate, Professor Sandy Onor, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ikem said the party appeared to be drifting without direction, noting that Onor had not been visible or engaged in activities expected of a presidential candidate.
He made this known while fielding questions on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Thursday.
The former PDP chairman said he was worried about the direction of the party, particularly its inability to showcase its presidential candidate to Nigerians.
“In my mind, looking at myself and the direction we are going, seeing that we have been told that we have a presidential candidate who is neither seen nor heard.
“I’ve never, I mean, my friend Professor Sandy Onor is the presidential candidate of the party but as you know, he’s not been visible anywhere to carry out any activities, and we are just floating, so to speak, in this state,” he said.
