Former Chairman of the Jigawa NUJ Council, Fahad, has passed away at the age of 55.  

Comrade Fahad Muhammad Malam Madori, the former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Jigawa State, has passed away at the age of 55. His death was announced by the current Council Chairman, Comrade Samaila Ibrahim Dutse, who revealed that Madori died unexpectedly at his home in Malam Madori town shortly after midnight on June 6, 2025. Until his passing, he was a seasoned journalist and worked as an Information Officer for the Jigawa State Ministry of Information, Youth, Sport, and Culture, handling duties for the Birniwa and Kirikasamma Local Government areas, and served on the Advisory Committee for the NUJ Jigawa Council. He is survived by his wife and four children. He has been interred in his hometown of Malam Madori in accordance with Islamic customs. The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zone A, expressed its sincere sympathies to the National President of the NUJ, Alhassan Usman, the National Secretariat, the Jigawa State Government, his family, and the broader journalism community in Nigeria regarding this significant loss. The condolence message, from Abdulrazak Bello Kaura, Secretary of NUJ Zone A, referred to the passing of Comrade Fahad as a substantial loss for the NUJ family and prayed for Allah to grant him eternal peace in Jannatul Firdausi. Likewise, the Jigawa State NUJ Council commemorated the late Comrade Fahad not only as a journalist but also as a devoted unionist who embodied the principles of truth, professionalism, and unity among media personnel. In a statement signed by the Council Secretary, Comrade Aisha Ahmed, it was highlighted that Fahad’s leadership as Chairman of the NUJ Jigawa State Council was characterized by integrity, altruism, and a commitment to the welfare of journalists, emphasizing that his remarkable contributions will be forever remembered.
