Baccalauréat 2025: Kolda has recorded a slight progress with a success rate of 39,44%

The provisional results of the Baccalauréat 2025 have just been released, and the académie de Kolda (south) registers a success rate of 39.44%, compared to 37.43% in 2024. In particular, public institutions showed a marked increase, with a success rate of 55.64%, compared with 51.9% in the previous year. A remarkable performance, which contrasts with that of private establishments and individual applicants, whose overall rate is capped at 19.05%. Despite this progress, the prudence remains de mise, the figures published are still provisional, pending the official results of the Office du Bac. It is this definitive document which will confirm or not the real performances of the region and its position in the national ranking. It should be noted that Kolda had finished at the last place at the national level in 2024, a ranking that had raised concerns and questions. In response, a regional forum had been organized to diagnose the root causes of this underperformance. Several corrective decisions had then been taken, ranging from the reinforcement of the pedagogical framework to the mobilization of the educational actors around a redress plan. This year’s rate therefore shows a somewhat encouraging development, but the question remains: will this progress, although real, be sufficient to bring the region out of the last place?
