The graduation ceremony of the 18th promotion of the Cours d’Application des Officiers de Gendarmerie (CAOG) was held on Wednesday 16 July 2035 at the Quartier général Mame Bounama FALL de Ouakam. This solemn moment marks the end of an intensive course of ten months for 50 officer-students, three of whom are women, from eight African countries: Senegal, the Republic of Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Cameroon, Madagascar and Togo. President of the General of Division, High Commander of the National Gendarmerie and Director of Military Justice, the ceremony brought together representatives of diplomatic, military, civil, religious and customary authorities. It consists of the successful completion of a cycle of training requiring military, legal, professional and physical training. The CAOG is recognized as an essential component of the École des Officiers de la Gendarmerie Nationale (National School for Regional Vocations). Since its creation, it has trained 766 officers, including 292 Senegalese and 464 foreigners from 18 African countries. A true pillar of regional security cooperation, the CAOG continues to strengthen the capacities of the continent’s security forces. The 18th promotion thus enriches the ranks of the Gendarmerie with officers aguerris, prepared to exercise command functions and assume strategic responsibilities.
