Fatoumata Ndiaye, better known by the nickname ” Fouta Tampi “, was placed in custody by the Brigade de recherches de la gendarmerie de Keur Massar before being deferred on Monday 20 July 2025 to the parquet. It is being prosecuted for non-repayment of a loan of FCFA 2,5 million obtained under a financing mechanism guaranteed by the State of Senegal through the FONGIP (Fonds de Garantie des Investissements Priorités). According to the information reported by L’Observateur, Fatoumata Ndiaye had been initially summoned last Thursday. After a first hearing, she was allowed to return home, with instructions to return the next day. During this second appearance, the decision was taken to keep her in custody. According to the investigators, the loan at issue had been contracted with a mutual company through the guarantee of public funds. Despite several re-launches and mises en demeure addressed by the financial structure, Fatoumata Ndiaye has neither reimbursed his credit, nor followed up on the injunctions.
