The Toronto Pearson aircraft reported that it welcomed eight fresh airlines last year, adding more flights to various locations. The newly added carriers throughout 2024 “helped provide a variety of direct flights to passengers and unlock destinations across the world,” according to the Greater Toronto Airports Authority ( GTAA ), the airport’s operator. Launched in April 2024 with airlines twice a year to Minneapolis. ITA Airways. launched in May 2024, offering regular flights to Rome during the summertime. European International Air Lines Served during the summer with five planes to Zurich each year in May 2024. Alaska Airlines. launched in May of 2024 and offering regular connections to the West Coast to travelers to Seattle. BermudAir. Launched in May 2024 with three regular planes to Bermuda. Hainan Airlines. Launched in November 2024 with one trip a year to Beijing. The GTAA noted that this flight had been putting its feet up for a while but has since resumed functions. Qatar Airways. launched in December of 2024 with three regular planes to Doha. Royal Air Maroc. Launched December 2024 with three planes regular to Casablanca, Morocco. According to GTAA, there are currently 54 carriers flying in and out of Pearson Airport. In 2024, 36 new pathways and nine new places were added.
