Peter Obi disregards Okpebholo’s warning, stating that he will return to Edo once more.

Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate from the Labour Party, announced that he will visit Edo state despite warnings from the state governor, Monday Okpebholo, about potential safety risks. Obi made this statement in Awka while addressing journalists, commenting on Okpebholo’s claim that he would not be safe in the state. The former governor of Anambra, who was at his old school, Christ the King College (CKC) in Onitsha, to make a donation, expressed that he is not intimidated by threats. He disclosed that he faces threats on a daily basis. He emphasized that if he needed to travel to Edo State to make a donation, he would do so without any hesitation. “Threats hold no significance for me.” I face threats on a daily basis. Are you aware of the number of times I’ve faced threats throughout Nigeria? I face threats on a daily basis; the ones you’re aware of were just spoken out loud. However, I refuse to live in fear. “If I’m given the chance to return to Benin and make donations again, believe me, I will.” I’ve consistently stated that we ought to downplay politics and focus more on investing in individuals. I traveled to Benin to invest in its people because having skilled doctors and nurses leads to an improved quality of life. The governor’s response should have been to support my efforts in his state rather than making threats against me. He ought to feel truly thankful. “Today, I’m at school to make a contribution, and tomorrow I will be at another school in Nigeria as well.”
