According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur is contemplating a £15 million bid for their captain, Son Heung-min. The future of the South Korean forward in North London appears uncertain as he is being pursued by Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles FC. Spurs have already made moves in the transfer market under their new manager, Thomas Frank, signing West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus and showing interest in Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White. Son, who is 33, may leave as reports suggest that Tottenham would consider offers between £15 million and £20 million. Any potential transfer to MLS would depend on the Europa League winner’s consent. However, the former Bayer Leverkusen player might choose to remain and compete for his position at Spurs. Son is actively engaged in discussions regarding the transfer, but it is expected that he will stay with the team for their pre-season tour in Asia. Last season, the team that finished 17th in the Premier League will compete against Newcastle in Seoul, South Korea on August 3. Although the previous league season was unsatisfactory, Son guided Spurs to victory in the Europa League, securing a 1-0 win over Manchester United. This marked Spurs’ first significant trophy since they triumphed over Chelsea 2-1 after extra time in the 2007/2008 League Cup final. The Europa League victory against United granted Spurs a spot in the upcoming UEFA Champions League.
