The home-based Super Eagles reached Zanzibar on Friday to finalize their preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN). The group, which includes players, coaching staff, and support personnel, left Nigeria on Thursday. They will be accommodated at a training facility organized by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their last training camp. Eric Chelle’s team has been placed in Group D alongside the reigning champions Senegal, as well as Sudan and Congo. Nigeria’s first match will be against Senegal at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar on Tuesday, 7 August. Their second match against Sudan is scheduled for the same venue on Tuesday, 12 August. The Home Eagles will face Congo in their final group match at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday, 19 August. The tournament will take place from Saturday, 2 August to Saturday, 30 August, hosted by three countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Reported by Adeboye Amosu.
