​WAFU B U-20: Flying Eagles Player Akinyele Expresses Pain Over Loss to Côte d’Ivoire in Final    

 

Ahmed Akinyele, a defender for the Flying Eagles, expressed his disappointment over losing the WAFU B U-20 final to Côte d’Ivoire, describing it as a painful experience. The match ended 1-0 in favor of Côte d’Ivoire due to a critical mistake by Ebenezer Harcourt in the final moments, where he mishandled a free-kick. Despite the loss, Akinyele shared his gratitude for being able to play for the Flying Eagles. He mentioned on X, “It’s tough to lose in the final, but I am genuinely thankful for the chance to represent the Flying Eagles. It’s a privilege to wear the green and white — I appreciate everyone who supported us on this journey.” We walk proudly.
