With approximately 120 fire burning in the state this week, high temperatures and thunder strikes have continued to increase the number of active fire in British Columbia. According to the BC Wildfire Service, half of the effective fires were started in the final 24 hours, with 16 declared out the same day. More than 1,200 lightning strikes were reported on Wednesday in the Cariboo Fire Centre region of central B.C. according to the fire services, which also caused 13 new fires to start there. A blaze in the B.C. Interior that is more than 12 square kilometers in size is 10 kilometers west of Lytton, B.C., where a temporary removal order for the Lytton First Nation is still in effect. 2: 56

The fireplace is very accessible from Highway 1, according to the fire service, and drivers are asked to apply more caution and be aware of the surroundings as they pass through. It is growing mainly to the west and north. There are no longer any heat warnings for much of the county and there are only a few isolated showers, but dry conditions mean energy on the ground is still ready for fire. Homes close to Peachland in the Okanagan and Cameron Lake on Vancouver Island are also subject to removal purchases.
