The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, launched this Saturday, 2 August 2025, the National Day of Human Investment, organized in the Mbao Classified Forest in the remote suburb of Dakar. This symbolic visit by the Head of State marks the official launch of the national reforestation caravan, an initiative aimed at restoring the vegetation and raising public awareness of environmental protection. Thousands of volunteers, supported by the water and forestry services and community organisations, are expected in several localities to plant trees throughout the campaign.
