The former budget minister, Birima Mangara, has been summoned in the framework of the investigation into the Arcelor Mittal scandal, a dossier which continues to defray the chronicle. According to the daily Liberation, the former member of the government is on the list of personalities called to explain before the dean of the investigating judges of the Tribunal de grande instance de Dakar. At the heart of this case, the 150 million dollars paid by the steel giant Arcelor Mittal in the sub-accounts Carpa of the French lawyer Me François Meyer, lodged at BNP Paribas. These funds, which are supposed to solve a dispute between the State of Senegal and the multinational, raise numerous questions about their use and the decisions taken at the time.
