In Equatorial Guinea, the former director of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), Balthazar Ebang Engonga, was sentenced to eight years in prison. He will also have to pay a fine of 125.4 million CFA francs, or about 190 000 euros. The information was made public by Hilario Mitogo, director general of the press at the Cour suprême de justice de Malabo. Balthazar Ebang Engonga was prosecuted for embezzlement of public funds. Several of his collaborators are also involved in this affair, according to the director general of the press at the Supreme Court of Justice of Malabo. “The former director of ANIF has been sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine of 125.4 million CFA francs”, announced Hilario Mitogo.
