Ghanaian church music fans are gearing up to pay a sincere goodbyes to Rev. George Owusu-Mensah, a favorite song, priest, and parents of famous composer Kofi Owusu Peprah. Rev. Owusu-Mensah, who passed away on November 10, 2024, at the age of 64, left behind an enduring legacy of devotion and church music. His extraordinary life and contributions have been honored in a ceremony.
A day of worship and monuments will take place at the Grace Baptist Church in Kumasi on February 6, 2025. Rev. Owusu-Mensah will then be laid in position on February 8 at the Grace Baptist Church in Amakom, Kumasi, followed by a burial service. The ultimate funeral services will take place on the side of the KNUST swimming pool. A thanksgiving services may be held on February 9 at the Grace Baptist Church to end his life’s activities.
Rev. George Owusu-Mensah was known for his soul-lifting songs like” Matwen Awurade Anim” and” Wo Nkutoo Na Wosɛ Ayeyi”, which cemented his place as a pillar of Ghanaian gospel music. At 64, he leaves behind an enduring legacy of devotion, music, and government that will continue to inspire years.
