Scott Gee was appointed as the new deputy commander during a swearing-in meeting on Thursday. The event was attended by relatives, friends, coworkers, committee members and Judge Gary W. Tranmer of the Ontario Court of Justice. Gee began his law enforcement job with the Gananoque Police Service in 2003 with over 20 years of experience. Throughout his career, he has held different roles, including sexual abuse investigator, main case manager and event commander. Additionally, Gee has worked as a trainer, creating and delivering plans for various police departments. Gee also served in the military, contributing to provincial parliamentary changes and policy development, especially in those relating to the use of force and stun gun applications. Additionally, he has been recognized by the Special Investigations Unit as an authority on stun gun apply. Before joining Kingston officers, Gee was chief of police in Gananoque, a role he assumed in 2021. He has completed more experiments at Queen’s University and Wilfrid Laurier University and has received a Police Foundations certification from St. Lawrence College. Gee has also been active in a number of neighborhood agencies, including the Gananoque Pride Alliance, the Municipal Drug Strategy, and the Eastern Ontario YMCA.
